Find Out About Foster Paws Rescue
Now that the 2024 Christmas in July fundraiser for Greenville Humane Society is completed, I’d like to highlight some other organizations that are helping find homes in Greenville, SC, for homeless pets. If I can use my blog and social media to boost the visibility of Upstate charities saving the lives of local animals, that’s a win for all of us!
The first organization I’m featuring might come as a surprise to those of you who think of me as a “dog person” because it is a cat-only rescue, but my cat allergy doesn’t prevent me from wanting these lovable little fur babies to find homes! So I’m shining a spotlight on Foster Paws Rescue.
Foster Paws Rescue is an admirable organization in many ways, but the most impressive thing to me is that it is run completely by volunteers. There are no paid employees; only volunteers doing the hard work of rescuing and caring for cats in our community. Foster Paws does not operate a shelter, all of the cats and kittens are housed in the homes of volunteer foster families. Beyond that, volunteers help with adoption events, transportation, care and feeding of cats, medical assistance, event planning, photography, communication, and every other aspect of running a feline rescue.
Foster Paws has been saving Upstate kitties since 2010 and operates as a no-kill rescue. It is a 501(c)3 nonprofit and relies entirely upon donations and grant funding. They have found homes in Upstate South Carolina for hundreds of felines.
Interested in adopting a Foster Paws fur child? You can visit some of their adoptable felines at Petsmart locations around town or at an adoption event. You can also view their adoptable cats online.
